Gary Numan’s The Touring Principle was his first major solo tour, beginning at the Glasgow Apollo Theatre on 20 September 1979 and concluding at Sheffield City Hall on 8 October 1979. The 16-date UK tour featured songs from Tubeway Army, Replicas and The Pleasure Principle, presented against a futuristic stage production of stark white lighting and geometric structures. Its distinctive android aesthetic was captured on the Living Ornaments ’79 live album and concert video.
