Gary Numan's Overseas Exile Tour took his Exile material beyond the United Kingdom in spring 1998, following the album's release in October 1997. The concerts continued the darker, industrial-influenced direction of Exile, combining songs from the album with established favourites.
The tour opened at Le Divan du Monde in Paris, France, on 13 March 1998 and concluded at the Baha Club in Charlotte, USA, on 31 May. The itinerary comprised 34 venues across eight countries, with an estimated travelling distance of 14,374 miles.
The setlists featured Exile songs including “Dominion Day,” “Dark,” “Dead Heaven,” “Absolution” and “An Alien Cure,” alongside earlier material such as “Cars” and “Are 'Friends' Electric?” A tour programme was also produced.
